The total population in Saguenay is 157,790
There is around an even population of males and females in Saguenay (probably slightly higher numbers in females).
In Children (0 years-14 years), there are around 22,564 people (14.3%) . In this age, there is a slightly higher amount of males than females. The male population from 0- almost 10 has a more steady growth rate compared to the female's which is elliptical.
In the Working Adults (15 years- 64 years), there are around 107,771 people (68.3%).
In Seniors (65 year+), there are around 27,613 people (17.5%). Towards the top of the pyramid (90 +), females seem to be living longer than males.
A possible future issue involving Saguenay's population would be that the new Working adults (which is the children now) wouldn't be able to support the new dependency load( which is the working adults now) and new generation of children. This would happen because Saguenay's children this generation is much smaller than the working adults now.

Immigration
![Picture](/uploads/8/0/1/1/80117822/1587428.png?477)
Immigration has always been very low in numbers in Saguenay. There was probably a spike of French people at a point in history but otherwise, immigration has always been slow.
Saguenay is 31.4% immigrants which in total is 1,705 people out of the 157,790 people in Saguenay. The main ethnic backgrounds that are in Saguenay are French, Chinese and Haitian with French being the largest ethnic group.
There are mainly three religions being practiced in Saguenay. The first and largest is Catholicism with 91.7% of the population (141,935 people) practicing the religion. Next, Christianity with 0.9% of the population (1,380) practicing this religion. Lastly, Evangelical with 0.3% of the population (465) practicing this religion.
The main languages being spoken are French and English.
I believe in the future the immigration rate will be at the same pace because firstly, Saguenay isn't really a big city and is not very urbanized which is not always appealing to an immigrant. Plus some of the industries are decreasing and there isn't a wide range of options like how a big city would have it, and, one of the main reasons an immigrant would come to Canada is for work. Lastly, Saguenay is mainly french speaking and is not very culturally diverse such as a big city would be. This would probably repel some immigrants from moving to Saguenay.
